Even before living in São Paulo, Scott Mitchem knew the city well. He had been traveling there for professional reasons, whether working for Fasano Hotels or consulting on development projects with local design professionals. Personally, he has enjoyed longtime friendships with many Paulistas, and visiting has been a source of inspiration.

This experience made him the perfect candidate to update the São Paulo City Guide for Wallpaper* and publisher Phaidon. The pieces he wrote refreshed the guide and lived alongside the original copy by Paul McCann about the city’s timeless landmarks.
