Scott Mitchem has been an editor at Wallpaper* magazine since 1999; as Editor-at-Large, Brazil, he authored the Wallpaper* City Guide, Rio de Janeiro, editions two, three, and four, from 2008 to 2013. The guide was also made available as a smartphone app and is considered one of the best in the travel publishing industry.

The magazine’s publishing partner, Phaidon (phaidon.com), describes the series: “Your passport to global style, Wallpaper* City Guides present an insider’s checklist of all you need to know about the world’s most intoxicating cities.”

The 2011 update to the Rio City Guide was launched with a cocktail fundraiser for Brazil Foundation (brazilfoundation.org), where Mr. Mitchem served as a committee member from 2010 to 2012. Hosted by the Phaidon store in New York City’s SoHo neighborhood (http://bit.ly/2fZXJE1), the event raised money for the nonprofit, which is focused on equality, social justice, and economic opportunity for Brazilian youth.
